The TH671ST is for golfers setting up their first home simulator who want a known brand, a stated throw and solid response, without paying for 4K or laser. It is a home cinema short throw model whose numbers happen to fit a golf bay well. Nothing about it is exotic, which is exactly why it suits a first build.

Our take
Throw distance
BenQ states a 100 inch image from 1.5 m. That sits between the very short Optoma models and the 2 m of the BenQ TK700STi, and it is easy to plan a ceiling mount around. The specs list image sizes from 60 to 300 inches.
A 1.5 m throw also leaves enough space behind the projector for cables and a shelf for the simulator PC if you mount it low.
Picture and response
Native resolution is 1080p Full HD, with 3,000 ANSI lumens and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Input lag is listed at 16.67 ms, and BenQ mentions microsecond DMD response to cut motion blur. For golf software at 1080p that is a responsive setup, though some rivals list lower lag.
Ambient light sensor
The LumiExpert sensor adjusts brightness to the light in the room. In a garage where daylight changes through a session, that keeps the picture balanced without you reaching for the remote.
Turn the sensor off if you prefer a fixed brightness for consistent colours on screen.
Sound, power and upkeep
A 5 W built-in speaker is listed, enough for software sounds if you do not run separate speakers. Noise is quoted at 33 dBA in normal mode and 29 dBA in eco mode. The listing gives a 230 V power rating, matching UK mains.
The light source is a lamp, with a 240 W lamp listed and lamp life given as 4,000 hours. Budget for a replacement lamp if the projector will see heavy use.
Against the alternatives
The Optoma GT1080HDRx is brighter at 3,800 lumens, throws further from a shorter distance and lists 8.4 ms response. The Optoma GT2000HDR adds a laser source and a 1 m throw. The TH671ST is the steady, well documented middle option.
Verdict
Choose the TH671ST if you want a straightforward 1080p short throw projector with clear throw and lag figures for a first golf bay. If response time is your priority, the Optoma GT1080HDRx lists a lower figure, and if you never want to change a lamp, the Optoma GT2000HDR is the laser option.
