Our take

Power for climbs

The listing states two 180 W motors. Twin motors generally give more torque on wet uphill fairways than a single small motor, though Golfted does not give a slope rating. For courses with long climbs from green to tee, that extra drive is the main reason to choose it.

Hill control on descents

DHC hill control assists on downhill stretches. In practice that means the trolley holds back rather than rolling ahead when a heavy bag pushes it downhill. It is the feature that makes remote use on steep courses comfortable.

Battery and fold

The lithium-ion battery is rated for 36 holes, enough for a long day or two rounds. The frame folds in half for transport, though the listing gives no folded dimensions. Colour options are mentioned in the title, with black shown here.

The accessory pack

Golfted includes twelve accessories with the ASR. Here the umbrella holder, bottle holder, caddy booklet and scorecard holder are plastic, alongside a golf glove, a stainless steel marker and repair tool, a carry bag, a phone pouch and holder, a towel for cleaning clubs and a drinks bottle with an LED temperature display.

Gaps and who it suits

Weight is the obvious gap. For a guide focused on lighter trolleys, that is a real omission, and twin motors are likely to add some mass. Folded size and remote range are also missing, so ask the seller before ordering if boot space or weight are concerns.

The ASR makes most sense for golfers who walk a hilly course several times a week and want the trolley to do the hard work in both directions. Flat course golfers who mostly want a light frame may get more from a simpler model with a stated low weight. If you play two rounds in a day, the 36 hole rating is a real advantage over an 18 hole battery.

Verdict

Choose the ASR if hilly golf is your norm and you want twin motors plus hill control in a folding aluminium frame. If stated low weight matters more, the Golfted GT-AR lists 10.5 kg, and if you want a stated downhill feature in a steel frame, compare the Golfted GT-R.
