The Tour V6 Shift is for golfers who play competitions and want to be certain slope is off when it should be. Its signature is the external slope switch, which toggles slope mode on or off for tournament-legal play, combined with Bushnell's BITE magnetic mount and Visual Jolt flag confirmation. This listing is the Patriot Pack edition.

In its favour

  • An external switch toggles slope on or off, so you and your playing partners can see the mode at a glance.
  • Visual JOLT flashes a red ring and vibrates when the flag is locked, so you know the reading is the pin.
  • BITE magnet holds it on a trolley or buggy frame, and IPX6 is listed for weather resistance.

Good to know

  • This Patriot Pack bundle adds a coin and case, so check whether a plain version suits you better.
  • The listing does not give a flag-specific range, only the 1,300 yard maximum.

Our take

Slope and the switch

The V6 Shift measures incline and decline to give slope adjusted distances. The external switch makes the setting visible and quick to change, so playing partners can see it is legal in a competition. That is an advantage over models that hide slope in a menu.

On a course with steep approaches, slope numbers also help in practice rounds, teaching you how much an elevated green plays up compared with the flat yardage.

Flag lock and optics

Visual Jolt flashes a red ring and the rangefinder vibrates when it locks onto the flag. PinSeeker technology prioritises the flag over the background. Optics are 6x with a range of 5 to 1,300 yards.

An IPX6 rating is listed, which covers strong jets of water, and the unit is described as water resistant.

BITE magnet and Patriot Pack contents

The BITE magnetic mount sticks to a golf cart or any metal surface for quick one-handed access. The Patriot Pack includes a premium case, a veteran coin, a microfibre cloth, a quick start guide and a CR2 battery.

The listing gives a weight of 454 g and dimensions of 15.2 x 12.7 x 11.4 cm, figures that look like the boxed pack rather than the rangefinder alone.

V6 Shift against the A1-Slope and Tour V7 Shift

The Bushnell A1-Slope is the compact option at 144 g with USB-C charging and slope on a mode button. The Tour V7 Shift adds a dual colour OLED and a recall feature. The V6 Shift is the middle ground with the external switch.

Who should pick something else

If size and weight matter more than an external switch, the A1-Slope is far smaller. Golfers who want GPS data in the same device should consider the Mileseey GenePro G1 or Voice Caddie SL3.

Anyone who dislikes changing CR2 cells may also lean towards a rechargeable model, since this pack ships with a CR2 battery rather than USB charging.

Verdict

Buy the Bushnell Tour V6 Shift if you want a clear external slope switch, a strong magnet and Bushnell's flag confirmation. If you want a smaller rechargeable laser, the Bushnell A1-Slope is better, and for a brighter dual colour display, the Tour V7 Shift.
