Our take
The redesigned console
Clicgear lists a long set of updates for the 4.5. The console now carries a phone holder that amplifies sound, storage pads that hold items by magnet or hook and loop, an opening for a charging cord and a three ball holder. A new adjustable drink holder takes anything from a slim can to a wide bottle, and a new storage bag and mesh basket add space lower down.
Separately, the listing mentions a magnetic rangefinder mount, an umbrella holder and accessory tabs, so most common golf gadgets have a dedicated home.
Brake and handling
The brake is a front-wheel hand brake, and Clicgear notes the cable is now routed internally, which keeps it away from bag straps and car boot edges. A hand brake lets you slow the trolley on a steep descent as well as park it, something a simple foot brake cannot do.
Handle adjustment is independent, and the upper saddle is adjustable, with a silicone strap system holding the bag.
Folded size and weight
The 4.5 folds to 13 x 15 x 24 inches, about 33 x 38 x 61 cm. That is narrow but tall, close to the Rovic RV1C 2.0 in shape. The package weight is listed as 7.26 kg, and since that includes packaging, the trolley itself should be a touch lighter.
Compared with the Clicgear 8.0+ and PowaKaddy Micra
In the wider push trolley guide, the Clicgear 8.0+ adds dual front brakes and a four-way fold for golfers who want the most robust frame. The PowaKaddy Micra is simpler, with a foot brake and key lock bag system, and suits those who do not need the gadget storage. The 4.5 sits between them, giving the richest console of the three.
Verdict
Buy the Clicgear 4.5 if you carry a phone, rangefinder and drink every round and want a hand brake that works on descents. If you want maximum braking, consider the Clicgear 8.0+, and if you prefer a simple, light frame with a foot brake, the PowaKaddy Micra is the alternative.
